Senior Electrical Engineer


We are seeking an experienced and hardworking Senior Electrical Engineer, to lead, organize, manage, and execute Electrical Engineering work within our current project portfolio.

This opportunity is available in our Albany, NY, or Meriden, CT office. We offer a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities will include client relations, project management, internal team coordination, contractor coordination, engineering design and execution.

This is a seller-doer position, meaning you will have both client management and project design responsibilities. Power distribution experience, including medium voltage system design, is a plus.

The project types you will be involved with include electrification, battery electric vehicle charging systems, transit facilities, college and university facilities, and commercial buildings. We have a diverse portfolio of exciting project types in various markets that provides stability and longevity in workload. This is a long-term career opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposal and fee development.
  • Portfolio and project management.
  • Engineering design and production.
  • Provide on the job training support to junior department members.
  • Certifying work.
  • Professionally sealing project work.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ plus years of Electrical Engineering experience from the consulting industry.
  • Firm understanding of industry standards, regulations, and codes.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited 4-year institution is required.
  • PE license is preferred.
  • Proficient with the use AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Capable of working independently; minimum supervision required.

Residential Structural Engineer

 

The Structural Engineer will work on stabilizing spaces, and walls and waterproofing the projects(s) with a need for structural experience and knowledge, preferably in concrete and steel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Local preferred, greater Omaha area
  • 5-7 years of structural engineering experience involving foundational projects
  • Degree in Engineering
  • Must have a PE; Will consider an EIT but they MUST have the qualifications desired - structural experience/concrete/steel/residential, etc.
  • Residential is preferred versus commercial but commercial will be considered
  • Experience with product experience in concrete and steel is IDEAL and will be considered first
  • Candidate who are growing their career and want to stay closer to home; Those looking for growth and a great company culture.
  • PhD candidates have not been great matches for this client; The educational experience is not required or needed for this role and is overkill

Lead Structural Engineer - Nuclear

 

Function as the structural lead engineer, prepare structural design change packages, coordinate interdisciplinary team of engineers and vendors to complete tasks on schedule and on budget.

Prepare structural calculations and evaluations in support of various design activities including, but not limited to the design of piping, cable and small equipment supports, instrument rack design, floor load impacts to concrete, structures evaluations, equipment anchoring evaluations and seismic response evaluations.

Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements, support construction/implementation and start up activities.

Exercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work by others to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data, coordinate the efforts of the structural group with other disciplines.

Develop material and work-hour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required, with the ability to obtain a PE in Texas.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with industrial steel and concrete design serving heavy industrial facilities.
  • The successful candidate must be able to obtain unescorted access within a nuclear power plant.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Engineering and design experience including developing structural modification packages.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years of experience relating to structural modifications and evaluations of commercial nuclear power plants.
  • Existing Design Engineer qualifications at a commercial nuclear power plant
  • Familiarity with nuclear standards and guidelines.
  • NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01)
  • Field experience at an operating Nuclear Plant

Renewable Energy Site Engineer

  

 

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to work with our Renewable Energy services group, providing support on Civil/Site design for Solar, Battery Energy Storage and other renewable energy projects. This position is open to candidates in the locations we have offices as a Hybrid position. We are seeking someone with a strong knowledge of design, production, and implementation of Renewable Energy development projects and Civil/Site projects. Experience with Site plan design, grading design, storm water and hydraulic calculations, as well as familiarity with State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), Department of Environmental Conservation, storm water permitting, and code review.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform site visits for project feasibility.
  • Assist with preliminary site layouts.
  • Develop comprehensive solar designs including Site plans, structural drawings and engineering calculations.
  • Produce both Site Plan and construction document drawings that will be used for permit approvals and construction.
  • Support permitting application processes.
  • Effectively communicate with project stakeholders including clients, professional engineers, contractors and coworkers.
  • Provide design and technical implementation of a high-quality project within the intended scope, timeframe, budget, and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • EIT or PE preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Self-starter with great communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
